GM's Push for Super Bowl 48 Was Not Product

While many car companies promoted a feeling or even a lifestyle, GM went right after the heart on its first of two ads for SB48


 


Tomorrow is World Cancer Day, a day devoted to raising awareness of a terrible affliction, which is said to be increasing 70% in incidents over the next 20 years. GM will be donating $400,000 to cancer research via the Barbara Ann Karmanos Institute, adding to GM's total of over $7.3 million over the last 17 years. 

Meanwhile, Chevrolet announced that it would donate $1 for every person (up to $1 million) that changes their Facebook or Twitter profile to purple – the color of cancer survival. The Purple Roads initiative provides rides for cancer patients to and from treatment.
