GM gives us a glimpse of what is to come next week
Every year since 2009 has been a big year for the Camaro at SEMA, and while we don't expect anything different next week (given the recent facelift) – Chevrolet is sure making a push with its sport compacts. In addition to the two Silverados, GM just let the cat out of the bag on its smaller, 4-cylinder varieties that will be taking up space at the Las Vegas Convention Center and adorned with plenty of aftermarket goodies.
Three of the most notable include:
The Ricky Carmichael Sonic concept– Chevrolet Performance 1.4L Turbo Stage Kit with exhaust, cold air, lowered suspension, Wilwood brakes, and 18-inch wheels plus satin black paint with blue pearl, smoked headlights, graphics, THULE roof rack, and a custom interior that uses Fox Racing boardshort material on the seats. What better way to give the flavor of an X-Games gold medalist, AMA champion, and NASCAR racer?
Sonic RS concept– Chevrolet Performance 1.4L Turbo Stage Kit with exhaust, cold air, lowered suspension, Wilwood brakes, and 18-inch wheels. The Lemon Peel Yellow paint and blue graphics will really grab attention, along with the tinted headlamps, fog lamps and blue accents throughout.
Personalization Cruze Diesel concept– ground effects from 3D Carbon as well as a front fascia and chin spoiler give the sedan a whole new attitude. A Kicker Audio package and ambient lighting make the 46mpg highway cruiser the ultimate road trip vehicle, capable of traveling 717 miles on a single tank.
Make sure you stay tuned for updates next week when we hit the show floor. There should be plenty of fifth-gen Camaros, C7s, and CTS-Vs as well as these mighty four-bangers.
