Let the rumor mill start turning
I have just heard from a reliable source that GM may be making the LS7 available for the 2014 Camaro. It appears that no new models will be introduced, however, it could be an optional engine for either the SS or the ZL1. While the LS7 seems a perfect complement to the 1LE package, the ZL1's trim level and heavy-duty rear end might make a more likely pairing. The General has been difficult to predict as of late, but adding options and packages late in the production life is a strategy that GM has been using to reinvigorate enthusiasm and generate sales (example: Centennial Edition and 427 Corvette Convertible). My vote is for an LS7 option on the 1LE that comes with the ZL1 drivetrain, devoid of electronic gadgetry– a car for purists and enthusiasts.
