New series partners with the NMCA for east and west coast events
In June the inaugural season for the NA/10.5 drag racing series will kick off. This new heads-up series for naturally aspirated V-8s and full-body cars on true 10.5 slicks has a well-defined set of rules, devised by a panel of racers, to keep costs in line and vary weights by the potential of each combination (full rules to come). The first east coast race is the NMCA Muscle Car Nationals at Maryland International Raceway (Mechanicsville, MD) June 8-10, and the first west coast race is the NMCA Street Car Nationals at Auto Club Famoso Raceway (Bakersfield, CA) June 22-24. The West Series also features the NMCA West Coast Shootout at Auto Club Raceway of Pomona August 17-19, which is part of the NHRA Unleashed program to allow participants to win a Wally. Both series will conclude at the NA World Championship Finals in Houston, Texas November 9-10 [NMCA/NMRA Lone Star Shootout]. Here is a complete list of each race:
Maryland International Raceway (Mechanicsville, MD), June 8-10
Auto Club Famoso Raceway (Bakersfield, CA), June 22-24
Auto Club Raceway of Pomona, August 17-19
Milan Dragway (Milan, MI), August 24-26
