The race for the fastest IRS-equipped Fifth-Gen is heating up, with the top two contenders now separated by less than .003-seconds. That's three thousandths of a second!
Running on the same track, in the same weather, on the same day, both Farks Supercars / American Racing Headers and RPM Transmissions dropped new Fifth-Gen records in front of the crowds at the third annual Camaro5Fest.
Farks/ARH was up first, taking the Fifth-Gen record from Lingenfelter, with an awesome 8.946-second pass at 153.30mph, which was just .51-seconds faster than the long standing LPE record.
Not to be out done, RPM Transmissions hit the track, turning up the wick on their nitrous powered Fifth-Gen. While slightly behind in the first half of the track, the Camaro turned it on late and set the new Fifth-Gen record by just .003-seconds.
