It might not be a Z28, but the nameplate is still appropriate
A collective gasp could be heard through the internet this morning as GM announced its 2012 Camaro ZL1 (not the "HP Edition") at the Chicago Auto Show. A number of visual cues not only suggest the monumental performance increase, but are also functional in helping increase performance. As was rumored, the ZL1 will come with a 550-horse LSA engine with piston oil squirters, 6060 manual transmission, dual disc clutch, electric power steering, larger 6-piston front and 4-piston rear Brembo brakes, a differential cooler, and many more features and upgrades from the SS model.
