Warning: The following items are only for the nerdiest of nerdy photographers and probably won't make any sense to anyone else. There is also a chance they might not even be cool to some photographers - but - for a Canon diehards like myself, these new mugs are definitely the coolest thing money can buy!
When I first heard of the "Canon 70-200 thermos" that was given to photographers at the Winter Olympics, I knew I had to get one. I don't even drink coffee and I live in Florida, but none of that mattered - I needed to own a Canon thermos. In a fevered pitch, I began searching only to have my dreams crushed upon finding that no more thermos's (thermi?) would ever be produced.
Months went by and I slowly began to forget about my dream, trying to forget the joy that drinking out of a Canon replica thermos would bring me. Enter CanonMugs.com, an internet store that recently started making waves in the canon-nerd-photographer web circle for offering reproduction Canon mugs. My first thought - this has to be fake. But, I had to risk it all (well, it's less than 100-bucks for both and you get free shipping, so it's not really "all of it" but... you know, that's still a lot of money for someone like me) and try to procure a set for myself.
And here they are, just nine days later, the coveted 70-200 thermos and a much more awesome 24-105 mug. The main focus of this post (or shameless brag) is the 24-105 mug, since it is almost an exact replica of a real deal. In fact, in an office full of photographers, none of us could tell the difference from 5-feet... the mug looks just like the real Canon lens. That is, until you pick it up and realize its the mug of your dreams!
There isn't much more I can say about these mugs that pictures can't do. Check them out below and head to CanonMugs to order your own!
