We know, it seems like just yesterday that you were loading up the trailer and heading to Memphis for the 3rd Annual LSX Shootout, but friends, it is time again to start preparing your cars. With the help of the NMCA and GM Performance Parts, we have been busy hammering out details for what promises to be the best LSX Shootout to date. With four full days of fun (October 7-10, 2010) this is a must see event, so make sure you tell your boss that you need some vacation time.
The first major change this year is the venue. We’re going to St. Louis, Missouri, home of the Gateway Arch, Anheuser-Busch and Gateway International Raceway! If you’ve never been, prepare to have a good time! Gateway International is both an NHRA and NASCAR certified racetrack, which means it is a first-class host. With all-concrete parking, no one is going to get stuck in the grass and fans can expect a killer view from any of the grandstands. After the race, dowtown St. Louis is just minutes away, which means the party can continue well into the night! Just remember, what happens in St. Louis, stays in St. Louis!
Second up, the NMCA has upped the prize packages this year, giving major incentives to come out and race. Don’t believe us? Check out the Drag Radial purse - $3000 to win, a coveted winners jacket, a killer plaque and a GMPP LSX Block! Runner up gets 1,500-bucks and a plaque! We have also stepped up with classes, adding a new Real Street class, which we hope will allow a ton of heads-up fast racing on a 275 Drag Radial or a 10.5 slick. Not looking to race? No worries, the LSX Shootout has one of the largest Manufactures’ Midways in the country for LS stuff and we have upped the car show this year, with new classes and sponsorship by Camaro5.com just for the 5th Gen fans.
Still not convinced that you NEED to be at this race? Well, check out the full press release below and then post up and let us know what you think! Or, skip all of that and go right to the source, NMCA Digital and check out the new rules!
