According to GM, by 2030 more than 60% of the worlds population will live in urban areas and by 2040 there will be more than 1.2 billion cars on Planet Earth. There solution? The new EN-V, which stands for Electric Networked Vehicle.
What does the EN-V do? Well, simply put, it "leverages electrification and connectivity, creating a new class of personal urban mobility." Sounds simple enough, but what else does it do? How about autonomous driving, parking and retrieval with advanced sensors and drive by wire systems. Still not impressed? What if GM told you it could turn around in 1.74 meters and is 1/6th the size of a regular car?
Ok, nothing? Well, think about this...
With the new EN-V, we could build miniature race courses atop city buildings with super tight turns and awesome tiny switchbacks. We could never crash, since the EN-V's would all be linked together, communicating back and forth and keeping us out of harms way. After the race (which I would dominate), we could head downtown for a night of partying and have our EN-V's link up and park themselves outside of the club. When were done, we don't tip the valet - the EN-V finds us and drives us home on a safe route, using nothing but GPS, night vision and a bunch of high tech super sensors. Once we get home, we don't have to do anything but plug the EN-V into our wall outlet and let it charge.
Ahhh the future, I sure do wish it would hurry up and get here already!
