Standing Mile Racing

We recently covered the Mile Marker-1 standing mile event just outside Miami, Florida and we would like to hear your thoughts on this new form of racing. Is it drag racing for sissies? One of the most exciting things you can do with your clothes on? Or just a fad that will be over and done in two years?

1. It looks like a blast to me, but I'm into any kind of straight line acceleration racing! Do they time it at all or is it just about mph?

I think there would be alot of people who would love it due to the amount of high horsepower street cars that are out there today. This event isn't as reliant upon traction, which some people are afraid will cause breakage.

Also, there are alot of street cars these days that are just starting to stretch their legs at the end of the 1/4 mile and then the race is over.
