A rare 1987 Buick GNX fell victim to the government program "Cash For Clunkers"...

With only 547 1987 Buick GNX vehicles produced makes this a rare bird indeed. According to the Detroit Free Press a Buick GNX was traded in for $4500 credit thanks to the Cash For Clunkers program. Now leaving only 546 rare GNX's left. What I don't understand is why you would trade it in. One would assume you knew how rare this car was and if you needed cash I know you could get more than $4500 from any enthusiast out there. Not the only victim, classic Corvettes were also some of the exotics that were traded in.
