Auto or Stick?

The Great Debate

For as long as I can remember, long before I even drove, I have been a proponent to manual transmissions. Perhaps it is the European in me, but I feel it truly enhances the driving experience and blurs the line between man and machine. However, being in many fast rides both auto and stick during my tenure at GMHTP I warmed to the idea enough to purchase my first automatic equipped vehicle several years ago...my LT1 Formula project car. Don't get me wrong, since I bought it I have been scheming to put a T56 in it. However, a recent crippling knee injury has made it difficult enough get in a car let alone driving with one foot not to mention two. And with many more months (possibly even a lifetime) of knee pain I am beginning to think owning a car with an automatic transmission was one of the smartest moves I ever made despite my previous buyer's remorse.
