Recently I had the pleasure of building an LS1 under the expert tutelage of my friend and respected colleague, Chris Werner. In addition to writing, snapping pictures and wrenching for the "My First Stroker" series in GMHTP (August '06, September '06, November '06; also available online in the tech section), Chris has also put together several high performance small block Chevys and holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Recently Chris has put yet another feather in his cap with the publication of "How to Rebuild LS-series Engines" with the help of CarTech/S-A Design. This is the first and only book dedicated to step-by-step rebuild procedures applicable to all Gen III and IV GM V8s. The book is designed to cover high-performance and stock rebuilds, appealing to both the novice and experienced engine builder. This book will soon be available at a number of retail locations, and is currently available at www.cartechbooks.com
