With the addition of the Fifth Generation Camaro and the Dodge Challenger to the previously short list of new American muscle cars, it begs the question where these three will fit into the racing world. There is no doubt die-hard drag racers will be clamoring for the first body-in-whites to put together some sick stock suspension and Outlaw race cars. The Camaro seems the natural choice for GM Racing's newest entry into the Speed World Challenge. But what about a dedicated racing series so that the Camaro, Challenger and Mustang can go head-to-head on a road course or oval track? The days of the Trans Am Series have long since past when a spectator could watch factory appearing American cars rub fenders with some of the best drivers in the country behind the wheel. I don't know about you, but I'd pay good money to see Tony Stewart, Dale Jr, Juan Montoya and Matt Kenseth duke it out at Road Atlanta in late model muscle.
