I can't imagine a better overall test of a vehicle and its driver than the Tire Rack One Lap of America. What began in the early '70s as a highly illegal cross country race started by the legendary Brock Yates, has since morphed into the ultimate automotive equivalent of a decathlon. Wet and dry skidpads, drag strip, road course, autocross course, and the street must all be traversed using two drivers and one set of DOT tires with a 140 or above treadwear. This past May marked the 25th anniversary of the competition, and as always LSXs made their presence known with many Corvette entries making serious bids in the SSGT1 Large Bore class. However, there was also a strong showing in the Luxury class as three CTS-Vs managed to steal points from BMWs and Mercedes. Congratulations to all the participants and sponsors such as DEI, Summit Racing, and of course Tire Rack.
